What this site collects, what it does not, and how to get anything about you removed.

This site is a set of free text tools. There is no account to create, nothing to sign up for and no newsletter, so for most visitors the answer to "what do you hold about me?" is: nothing that identifies you. The sections below set out the exceptions.
Who we are
The Fancy Text Generator operates www.thefancytext.com and is the data controller for the small amount of information described here. Questions and requests go to classstatus0@gmail.com.
Text you type into the tools
When you type into a generator, that text is sent to our server, converted into the styles you see, and sent back. It is not written to a database and not kept after the response.
Application logging is switched off, so what you type is not written to disk at all. If we ever turn diagnostics on to chase a bug, only the first 40 characters of an input that failed are recorded, and those logs are short-lived. Even so: do not paste passwords, card numbers or anything else confidential into these or any other online text tools.
A few tools run entirely in your browser and send nothing at all – the PNG text generator draws its image locally, so the text never leaves your device.
Server logs
Like every website, our host records each request: IP address, browser and operating system, the page requested, the page you came from, and the time. This happens automatically and is used to keep the site up, spot abuse and understand which tools get used. It is not linked to anything else about you and is not used to build a profile.
Stored in your browser
We set no cookies of our own. Three small values are saved in your browser's local storage instead – they stay on your device, are never sent to us, and clearing your browsing data removes them.

Advertising and analytics
The site is free and is funded by advertising, which means two Google services can place cookies on your device. Neither is under our control, and we cannot read what they store.
Google AdSense
Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads and to limit how often you see the same one. Where personalised advertising is used, it may draw on your previous visits to this and other sites. You can turn personalised ads off at Google My Ad Center, and read how Google handles data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Google Analytics
Used to count visits and see which tools are worth improving. Reports are aggregated, and IP addresses are anonymised before storage. You can opt out for every site with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools on this site work with cookies switched off.
Why we are allowed to do this
If you are in the UK or the EU, the UK GDPR and GDPR require us to name a lawful basis for each use:
- Legitimate interests – server logs, for security and for keeping the site running.
- Consent – advertising and analytics cookies, which you can withdraw at any time through your browser or the Google links above.
- Legitimate interests – replying to you when you email us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to see what we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it is used, or to receive a copy. Email classstatus0@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
In practice there is usually very little to send: we hold no accounts, and typed text is not stored. If you are in the EU or UK and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms, and we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises their rights.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and it will be deleted.
How long we keep things
- Text you type: not kept. It exists only for the moment it takes to build the response.
- Application logs: switched off. If enabled temporarily to diagnose a fault, they are deleted once it is fixed.
- Server access logs: kept by our host under its own schedule, typically a few weeks.
- Emails you send us: kept while the conversation is useful, then deleted.
Data is processed on servers in the United States. Where information leaves the UK or EU, it is covered by the standard contractual clauses our host and Google use.
Changes to this policy
If we add a tool that handles data differently, or change advertising or analytics providers, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised policy.
