Bold Text Generator

Type once and get twelve bold styles you can paste into Instagram, TikTok, Discord or anywhere else that gives you no formatting buttons.

Click any style to copy just the text – the label stays behind.

Bold works hardest next to something plain, so the small text generator makes a natural partner, and the instagram fonts show which of these survive a bio field.

Bold text you can paste anywhere

Instagram captions, TikTok bios, Discord messages, Twitter posts and LinkedIn headlines have one thing in common: no bold button. This works around that. Type your text above, click the style you want, and paste it wherever you were going to write it anyway.

Why it works when the app has no formatting

This is not a font. A website cannot change the typeface inside someone else's app. What happens instead is a swap: each letter is replaced with a different character that already exists in Unicode and simply happens to look bold. The B in ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ is not a B in a bold typeface – it is a separate character called Mathematical Bold Capital B.

Because it is a character rather than formatting, it survives copy and paste into places that strip everything else. That is the whole trick, and it is also why it behaves oddly in the ways described below.

Which style to use where

Style Looks like Best for
Bold sans ๐—•๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜…๐˜ The closest match to a real bold, and the safest choice on any platform.
Bold serif ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐ญ๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ Slightly more formal. Good for headings in a bio.
Bold italic ๐‘ฉ๐’๐’๐’… ๐’•๐’†๐’™๐’• Emphasis inside a longer line, where full bold would shout.
Bold script ๐“‘๐“ธ๐“ต๐“ญ ๐“ฝ๐“ฎ๐”๐“ฝ Names and signatures. Harder to read in long runs.
Bold fraktur ๐•ญ๐–”๐–‘๐–‰ ๐–™๐–Š๐–๐–™ Gaming and band names. Missing on some older Android builds.
Double-struck ๐”น๐• ๐•๐•• ๐•ฅ๐•–๐•ฉ๐•ฅ Outlined look that stands out without being heavy.
Filled circles / squares ๐Ÿ…‘๐Ÿ…ž๐Ÿ…›๐Ÿ…“ ๐Ÿ…ฑ๐Ÿ…พ๐Ÿ…ป๐Ÿ…ณ Single words only. Very heavy, and rendered as emoji on some devices.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your text in the box at the top. Every style updates as you type.
  2. Compare the styles. They look different on different devices, so pick on how it reads rather than what it is called.
  3. Click the one you want. Only the styled text is copied – the label is not part of it.
  4. Paste it where you need it, then check it on a phone before you commit. That is where most rendering surprises show up.
Use it for a name or a line, not for a paragraph. Screen readers announce these characters one at a time, or skip them entirely – so a bold bio can be unreadable to a blind visitor. Search engines treat them as unrelated symbols too, so bold text in a page title or heading will hurt your ranking rather than help it. Keep anything that matters in ordinary letters.

Where it works and where it breaks

  • Works well: Instagram bios and captions, TikTok, Twitter/X, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, Tumblr, YouTube descriptions, Steam, most forums.
  • Works, with caveats: Facebook and LinkedIn render it, but both have been known to filter styled characters out of some fields.
  • Avoid: email subject lines, which often mangle it; anything you will later need to search for; usernames on Xbox and PlayStation, which reject non-ASCII characters outright – use the gamertag generator for those.

Frequently asked questions

No, and that is why it works. Nothing is installed and no font is downloaded. Each letter is swapped for a different Unicode character that looks bold, so the text carries its appearance with it wherever you paste it.

Because the device reading it has no glyph for those characters. Nothing is broken and the text is intact – it will display correctly somewhere else. Bold sans and bold serif have the widest support; fraktur and the filled squares are the ones most likely to be missing.

Yes. Instagram has no bold button, so this is the usual way people do it. Copy a style, paste it into the bio field and save. Keep it to a line or two – a bio made entirely of styled characters is hard to read and cannot be searched for.

Both, and not in your favour. Search engines do not read ๐›๐จ๐ฅ๐ as “bold”, so a page title or heading written this way loses the keyword entirely. Screen readers either spell the characters out or skip them. Use it in a social bio or a name, and use real formatting on your own website.

Usually not. To a search box, ๐‰๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ž and Jamie are different strings, so a styled display name can make an account hard to find. Keep your username in plain letters and put the styling in the bio instead.

Free, with no account and no limit. The conversion runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent anywhere.
